Performers

No festival would be complete without the magic of live performance! We're proud to list the following performers for Earth Freq 2009.
The Gubbi Gubbi Dancers
Gubbi Gubbi Dance is proud to invite the community to celebrate and share in our song and dance (yuar warrai) as we pass on the stories and language of our people. Drawing inspiration from our elder generation who taught us only to take what we needed and always give back to mother earth, keeping the balance between nature and man. A powerful display of song and dance guaranteed to leave a lasting impression as a truly enriching cultural experience.
We are honoured to have the Gubbi Gubbi Dancers join us to take part in the opening ceremong on Saturday Afternoon!

The Art of Fire ~ Workshop and Community Performance There is something primal about fire that calls people to dance with it. This workshop caters to those individuals and unifies them as a group through community experience. A fire performance outcome allows creative energy somewhere to flow. A truely rewarding experience, and a great way to connect with other firies! Due to the attention span required, this workshop is for ages 16+ only. All levels of ability welcome and respected.
Workshop Duration: 2 hours
Performance: Saturday Evening
Please bring toys & water and be dressed for play.
Dryads - The Walking Tree PeopleIf you can imagine people who stayed in one place of a forest for so long that strangler figs grew all around them, so long in fact that they started to grow like trees, with branches where their arms used to be. Twigs and leaves grow like hair, and from the tips of their fingers like nails. Moss and vines grow over their barky skin. They are the Dryads…
Ancient beings of old growth forests, with wisdom of ages long forgotten, knowing much of what us busy folk have forgotten in all our hustle and bustling about. The Tree-People are timeless. . . Ageless. . . As old as the earth and as young as a seed. Which came first, the seed or the tree? Only the tree-people seem to know,. . . or at least accept the unknowing.

Rhythmisity
Alissa and Bonnita are performers that are based around the Nnsw area. Both girls have an extraordinary talent of flexibility and rhythmic gymnastics and have been competing in this industry for over 12 years. They have been more then successful with competing locally, stately, nationally and internationally. They have combined their imaginative minds and talent to create a unique project called 'Rhythmisity' which is a study in the aesthetics of human motion, lucid contortionistic body movements and intricate apparatus handling choreographed together to create a piece of living breathing and kinetic art.
Fruit Fairies
These magical creatures emerge sporadically and are well known for spreading around tasty fruit treats and fairy smiles to the morning dancefloor.
