Tony Allison – Digital for Doofers - Photography Workshop
This is a practical hands on workshop for camera users of all types – particularly those who have digital compact cameras - its not the size of your equipment but how you use it! The information presented is easy to understand – we’ll leave the technobabble out of it and get down to essentials – what makes a great photo and how to achieve that. First up, we’ll talk a little theory – light, composition, picture elements and rule of thirds. Then we’ll cover the basics – how your camera registers the image and what you need to do to make sure it does its job! Here we’ll go over camera controls and what settings to use under what conditions to ensure your photos turn out every time. Lastly, we’ll look at how to avoid common mistakes and a bunch of simple tips and tricks to cover a variety of situations [including low light and indoor photography] Overall – it will be a fun and funky few hours to get started on the path to taking better photos – its’ information you can use for the rest of your life!! There may also be the opportunity to talk about the role photographers play in documenting our culture, our personal perspectives and issues relating to privacy. SUNDAY NIGHT SHOWCASE / OPEN AIR GALLERY [Subject to programming equipment and projector location] As a first for Earthfreq – we will screen a selection of images taken by participants for your viewing pleasure! Bring the kids and see how the photographers see!
Michael Fuzz – Mindful Moments Workshop
The Taoist masters reasoned that to be connected to the outer universe, one first needs to gain control of his or her own inner universe. They experienced this inner universe as a flow of energy, or chi, throughout their bodies. In this workshop we will practice a series of gentle movements and self massage techniques to balance the nervous system, build internal chi and calm the inner universe. Hosted by fuzz (chinese med / kinesiology / yoga therapist)
Debra Vaheba - The spiritual/psychological aspects of illness
The connectedness of all things underlies the philosophical beliefs of ancient cultures. Over thousands of years the observations of the wise have been made and recorded to pass on to future generations. Believing that we are separate entities from our natural environment and not being in harmony with it creates a dichotomy which keeps us out of touch with ourselves. The energetic nature of our universe is the key to understanding it and ourselves. Drawing from Taoist and Hindu philosophies, this workshop is about synchronous nature. Honouring the Earth Freq gathering to share music, love and harmony it touches on sound vibration and it's part in the scheme of things. I have a 20 year background in Traditional Chinese Medicine, 30 years in the health field and am well qualified to speak on these things.
Jenny – Traditional Fibre Spininng Workshop
Spinning is the art of twisting fibres together to make a thread. Which can then be woven, knitted or used however you like for all sorts of purposes . One of the oldest crafts known to man , the gentle repetitious movements are very relaxing, satisfying and can be quite trance inducing.
